Pigs and Pinot is a well established combination that is the focus of an annual celebration at Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen at the Hotel Healdsburg and after reminding myself of the combination last week at Daniel Boulud’s new London outpost Bar Boulud I can see why.

It’s not always the show-off dishes that make a great restaurant but getting the small things right so well done @asador44 for the bread - well actually the best ever sourdough toast both at dinner and at breakfast), the perfectly cooked side of broccoli and the stellar apricot ice cream and sangria sorbet. It’s the crushed broad beans with goat’s cheese and preserved lemon salsa. Although he makes it with frozen broad beans and peas which makes it a brilliant storecupboard standby I made it with fresh given both are in season - just the perfect taste of summer.
